Job Role: The Miskin Project aims to promote placement stability for young people and families who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.
To compliment existing programmes of support Miskin is developing its new 'Building The Future Together' programme that aims to support young people 11-17 years of age in gaining the skills that they might need to gain future employment through combining a social care and outdoor education approach.
The project is looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a minimum of two nationally recognised coaching/leadership qualifications in outdoor adventurous activities. Experience of facilitating a varied outdoor adventurous activities programme with young people is essential. A full driving licence is essential.

This exciting 3 year project will be participatory in nature with people with learning disabilities working as co-researchers. It will explore what people with learning disabilities think about abuse, what help and support they need to keep themselves safe from abuse and, when someone has been abused, how they can best be supported. We are now seeking to recruit a research assistant to work alongside the co-researchers. The successful candidate will need to have experience of working with people with learning disabilities, have the ability to work flexibly and be committed to participatory approaches to research.

Description: This is an exciting opportunity to get involved within The Children’s Play Team, as and when required to support the existing Play Development workers and The Mobile Play Bus Project.
The Children’s Play Team and the mobile Play Bus project delivers a range of play opportunities for children and young people aged 0 -14 across the City & County of Swansea.
You will be required to assist in running Open Access Play sessions, delivering largely from Community buildings and Open spaces throughout the City and County of Swansea, as part of the Children’s Play team and the Mobile Play Bus Project.
From January 2010 you will be required to assist in running play/creche sessions from a 40ft single deck Play Bus, which will travel around the City and County of Swansea.
The role requires enthusiasm, teamwork, excellent communication skills, flexibility, the ability to drive a transit van and the possibility of a 40ft Play bus. Staff will be invited to support sessions during the week, weekends and school holidays.
There will be no set or guaranteed hours, although the majority of the work will take place during evenings and the occasional weekends, other than that which is agreed by yourself and the team - giving consideration to any external commitments you may have.
You will need to have knowledge of the importance of play, particularly Open Access Play, and experience/qualifications of working with children of all ages and young people through play.
You will need to be flexible and have good organisation and communication skills.

Description: HYPE (Helping Young People by Peer Education) is a substance use prevention programme, delivered in a classroom environment by peer educators. The appointed post-holder will co-ordinate the work of the programme across partner agencies in Swansea to achieve effective maintenance and development of the project.
Initially for a period of 6 months, it is hoped that further financial funding will enable the programme to continue.
This post is offered as either a secondment, to enable those with specialist skills pertinent to this area to consider a post on a temporary basis. Alternatively, it is offered as substantive, independent position on a temporary basis.
