Job Role: The Authority has an established Aftercare Services Team offering an extensive range of support services to young people leaving care. We require an Aftercare Worker in the team on a temporary basis to cover a period of maternity leave. The post will be available for a year.

You will be responsible for the development of individual Pathway Plans with "eligible" young people, and will be the central figure in the provision of ongoing support to young people post care. You will also be responsible for maintaining positive links with other agencies and will work directly with a range of young people aged 16 to 21.

The successful applicant will require the DipSW or equivalent and be able to demonstrate the necessary skills and knowledge to work with young people who have been looked after and are in the transition to adulthood and independent living in their community.

WCF is targeting particularly disadvantaged, isolated and marginalised Black and Minority Ethnic Women, who are experiencing multiple layers of discrimination and exclusion in accessing services ane employments.

Job Role: The Financial Officer will have direct responsibility, on behalf of Women Connect First, for managing & maintaining the financial budget and monitoring the income and expenditure in relations to the new 'Empower Women Too' project under the supervision and guidance of the Project Manager.

You will be responsible for day to day financial management management of the 'Empower Women Too' project such as: calculating and payment of staff salaries & pensions, dealing with Inland Revenue, Banks, Insurance, pension brokers, auditing accountant, dealing with payment of bills, and will also be responsible for invoices, orders, bills. petty cash, travel expenses and volunteer expenses and all other finanacial matters related to the service users of 'Empower Women Too' project. Also paying Basic skills tutors & childcare workers will be your responsibility.

You will have the main responsibility of producing monthly & annual financial reports and Annual financial reports and sending copies to Companies house, Charities commission and the funders.

Job Role: You will be responsible for identifying, selecting and recruiting suitable BME women to volunteer for The ‘Empower Women Too’ project. As well designed induction programme will be delivered to new volunteers to demonstrate to them the various duties they will carry out in the ‘Empower Women Too’ project.

The Volunteer’s Co-ordinator will be responsible for maintain the database and upto date records of volunteers attendance, arranged rotas, allocated tasks, duties, and allocate volunteers to help in organising the different programmes of the ‘Empower Women Too’ project. She will allocate individual tasks to the volunteers & supervise them closely. She will liaise with other project staff for the smooth running of the project.

She will be responsible for organising various training courses for the volunteers to equip them with the right skills, such as: Time management, disarming anger, equality training, multi-culture and diversity training, food hygiene, child care training, sign language and deaf awareness, interpreting taster session, desktop publishing and IT, etc.,. She will also help the volunteers in finding jobs, in filling job applications and provide them with references.

Additional Information

Job Role: Therapeutic foster carers are not employees of the City & County of Swansea. You will work on a self employed basis. Fostering is unique in that it allows you flexibility and room to develop your own skills and it can become a way of life, rewarding, enjoyable and challenging.

We are looking for therapeutic fostering carers to join our new multi-agency team to help improve outcomes for looked after young people in Swansea. As a therapeutic foster carer you will have the experience, qualifications or capability to nurture and support young people who exhibit challenging and difficult behaviour for a period between 6 months and 2 years.

As a therapeutic foster carer, a multi-agency team (including Health, Social Services, and Education) will be available to support you. This includes, support and training from a health therapy team led by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, specialist education packages to secure access to education and high levels of social work support.

To be a therapeutic foster carer you will reside within the boundaries of the City & County of Swansea. You may have a family of your own but there will be no other children under the age of 16 residing in the house and you will need a spare bedroom. You will have previous experience and/or the ability/capability to work with children with challenging behaviour and have the ability to understand and empathise with the needs of young people.

Salary: Self Employment Opportunity up to £24,000 pro rata


Job Role: Therapeutic foster carers are not employees of the City & County of Swansea. You will work on a self employed basis. In return for your services, you will receive an enhanced fostering fee equal to almost £24,000 pro rata from Foster Swansea. Additional fostering allowances are also available to provide for any young person in placement.

Fostering is unique in that it allows you flexibility and room to develop your own skills and it can become a way of life, rewarding, enjoyable and challenging.

We are looking for therapeutic fostering carers to join our new multi-agency team to help improve outcomes for looked after young people in Swansea. As a therapeutic foster carer you will have the experience, qualifications or capability to nurture and support young people who exhibit challenging and difficult behaviour for a period between 6 months and 2 years.

As a therapeutic foster carer, a multi-agency team (including Health, Social Services, and Education) will be available to support you. This includes, support and training from a health therapy team led by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, specialist education packages to secure access to education and high levels of social work support.

To be a therapeutic foster carer you will reside within the boundaries of the City & County of Swansea. You may have a family of your own but there will be no other children under the age of 16 residing in the house and you will need a spare bedroom. You will have previous experience and/or the ability/capability to work with children with challenging behaviour and have the ability to understand and empathise with the needs of young people.
