Holy light

Cherished light shines bright within
A light so bright yet soft
This light that burns it brings a peace
And carries true my heart aloft

Without this light I am weak and lame
My life is just a crime
So I give this light my energy
So burns the light sublime

The light it carries with a word
A text so pure and sweet
Within a book so bound with love
The words I need to eat

The light divine will never fade
Unless I fall to sin
I hold it close within my heart
Won’t let the devil in

I praise the lord above for life
That he has offered me
And hope to share this light of mine
For one and all to see
